ADVOCACY

Legislative advocacy refers to our efforts to contact state representatives for the purpose of advocating for legislation that recognizes positive parental involvement in schools.

Thank you to Governor Tony Evers & Proclamation Director and Scheduler for the Chief of Staff – Izzy Marshall for honoring our request for a proclamation that recognizes positive parental involvement and National Parental Involvement Day in Wisconsin schools, that remained open, as, well as virtual schools during a national pandemic. Your office was inundated with one challenge after another after transitioning into the role of your new position. Many brick-mortar schools were closed due to Covid-19 but our passion for acknowledging positive parental involvement continues. We look forward to working with your office and having direct contact with schools soon.

ADVOCATING FOR A PROCLAMATION TO RECOGNIZE NATIONAL PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT DAY WITH S.Edwards-Billings & Wisconsin State Senator Fred Risser – (Retired-2021)

Prior to Teacher Appreciation Week and National Parental Involvement Day, we ask our elected officials to draft proclamations in recognition of schools and parents in their respective state. Each proclamation is shared with local school districts for the purpose of creating public awareness and future programs for parents and volunteers, that expresses gratitude for their involvement and support of teachers and students.

ALLPARENTSONDECK, can proudly say that no matter which party maintains control over our government – partisanship has not stopped our efforts to obtain proclamations in a timely fashion. A special thank you to each Legislative Assistant and elected officials, for getting involved in our process of recognizing positive behaviors of parents and volunteers.
